Want to stay safe and stay in love during a pandemic? Here’s how to plan the ultimate stay-at-home Valentine’s Day for a memorable night in!
Living Room Set-Up
Blow up the old air mattress, grab your favorite blankets and settle in for an evening in the living room. If you’re anything like us, hanging out in the living room every night has become part of your corona-routine. But tonight, make it an effort to set up a special spot!
Take-out in the Dining Room
It feels like Doordash has been my most frequently used app over the last year. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be any different. Order take-out from your favorite local restaurant and set up in the dining room. Normally we’re balancing plates on our laps in the living room, but Cupid makes us do silly things… Set up your dining room with some candles, drink out of your wine glasses, and break out the nice silverware. Creating a gorgeous tablescape with items you already have makes it a romantic night in!
Pick up a Disposable Camera
Grab a disposable camera from the drugstore on your way home from picking up your take-out. Take pictures throughout the night and you’ll have physical reminders of your 2021 Valentine’s Day forever! What’s more nostalgic and romantic than pictures that look like they were taken in the ’90s?
Try Mixology
Did I mention Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday followed by a Federal Holiday this year? Celebrate each other and George Washington the next day with some new drinks! Check out the Gent’s Lounge for 3 Cocktail Ideas or browse Eventbrite for some Virtual Valentine’s Mixology Dates.
Board Games
Take a break from Netflix and set up some board games in the living room. Any board game mixed
with some drinks can get fun quickly! I’m a sucker for a round of two-player Catan – yes, against the rules, but who’s watching? Here are Cosmo’s Best Adult Board Games that you can get ahead of time.
S’mores
It is dark and cold by 4pm here, so it’s time to cuddle up for dessert. We don’t have time or the willpower to start a fire for s’mores; I mean, it’s a wonder you’ve even planned this far in advance. Make s’mores over the stove or in the microwave accompanied by some hot chocolate bombs. Check out these on Etsy – be sure to order ahead of time!
